What a good shot!
Looks can be deceiving! Don't believe with some of the looks you see here.
I love this photo so much. Of course, we were in for a pleasant surprise when we saw this photo displayed at the exit of the theme park. Without hesitating at all, Daddy decided to purchase it.
Legoland is a good place for the family. Well, we have yet to explore the entire park. Legoland, you'll see us again.

Mom chose Thai food at Flying Chillies
To celebrate Mom's birthday, this time Thai food was the choice. Mindful that we had to order some food which suit the kids especially Wyng, we ended with quite a tableful. Two dishes to satisfy Wyng, pandan chicken and the fish cake, but he only took the Pandan chicken and scrambled egg (not pictured).
After this sour and spicy Thai meal, Daddy and Mom sort of decided we won't be having tomyam soup for our meals anymore. It's too sour for our stomach to take. Moreover, with the serving here, we practically got drowned with the soup. Hoe, for one, couldn't take too much, just about half a bowl.
The restaurant was at Mid-Valley's Flying Chillies. Our rating for the food is probably 6 out of 10. Service is so-so only. No major complaints about them, not that efficient, as usual, what do you expect of Malaysian customer service?

Do you still celebrate wedding anniversary?
Yes, we do. There are no romantic candle light dinner or roses as surprise gifts. We are contented with a meal celebration with the kids.
This year is unusual because Daddy had forgotten about this important day until Mom sms-ed him the day after the anniversary. Mom remembered on the important day itself but only at 8pm. Since it was a Tuesday and Daddy was working then, he suggested to have the late celebration on Saturday.
Each time whenever there is such celebration, the kids are the happiest. We ended up at a Japanese restaurant again. We never get bored of dining at such restaurant, by the way. Mom does't really mind as long as the food is cooked! They are oriental anyway, Mom's favourite. Western is out! Mom doesn't have much liking to steaks, salad and its sauces and cheesy stuff.
We've never eaten at Sakae Sushi before. Last Saturday's was our first. Strangely, we find the food not as good as Sushi King although Sakae Sushi originates from Japan which is supposed to be better. What we like best is the 'self-service' ordering system where we picked our choices at a monitor screen at our table. The con about this system is the kids tend to order whatever they want conveniently without parent's approval as the monitor is just at the table, next to the water dispenser. The food is also served reasonably fast.
It was Wyng who pointed to us about this sushi maker in the kitchen. Our table was just in front of the kitchen, next to the conveyor belt, as pictured here. He was so excited each time blocks of rice dropped from the machine. It was also an eye-opener for us. We've never seen sushi being made by machine.
This curry chicken rice which Hoe said was similar to the dish he had cooked before.
Mom's rice tasted quite good although the presentation didn't impress us.
Emmm.. fresh and delicious. Hoe and Daddy savoured their favourite salmon where Mom just observed.
Overall, Sakae's food lacks presentation, something we were surprised of. The taste is reasonably good, so is the service. However, we find that the variety of sushi on the belt cannot beat Sushi King. At Sushi King, we were so enticed by some of the sushi that we couldn't resist and just picked them from the belt. It's not the same here at Sakae. We looked at the sushi, wondered what they were, put them back and didn't bother to try them.

Good for Hoe, he served our drink for us. This will make him 'contribute' his part for this meal. Wyng, as usual, was so intrigued by the plates of sushi on the conveyor belt which is just right beside him. He couldn't resist opening some of the covers of the sushis and at times, he mischieviously blocked the movement of the belt that he got a stern look from the chef working in the kitchen, just beside the belt.

Happy New Year!
This was the first time we counted down to the new year at my sister's house with the family. We had dinner, potluck style. Lots of food, lots of laughter, especially the kids who get to mingle and chat during festive occasions and noise from the older 'generation'. Not many, only 3 generations under one roof. There was some 'drama' too to end the year. "Otherwise there's nothing to spice up our day!", enthused my sister.
Another memorable thing for me is that this was the first time I contributed something I cooked myself for this family function. The fireworks display was shot from the balcony of my sister's apartment. We'd never done this before, witnessing and shooting a video at such close distance. Quite a refreshing start for the year 2012!

Strolling down memory lane with the kids
Despite having been to Cameron for four to five times, this place failed to attract my interest until the recent trip. It was only after some persuasion by the kids that I agreed to walk into this 'tunnel', well, it's not exactly a tunnel. My, I was in for a pleasant surprise! At the end of this visit, I was glad that the kids were persistent enough to convince Mom to change her mind.
Walking through the place was like taking a stroll down memory lane. It reminded me about my childhood and teenage as well as the early part of adulthood. The kids actually caught Mom and Daddy's enthusiasm as we walked on enthusing and feasting our eyes on a wide array of old and antique items on display.
'Tikam' was what Daddy called this. This used to be my favourite but we rarely had a chance to play as our parents were not financially comfortable enough to give us so much of pocket money.
Looking at this old Gameboy reminds me of the current PS2 or PS what version now. Kids are so fortunate nowadays that almost each of them can be seen playing a PS but not my kids. How satisfied were we then if we could even own this?
Just a few weeks ago, I was talking to Hoe about this favourite pastime of mine. I was telling him about how in those days kids don't get to play electronic gadgets. We actually had to make our own toys or games. I told them how their Mom used to make dozens of fashionable clothings for these picture models when Mom was not given any money to buy these. Indirectly, I was trying to tell him that he can still enjoy with less things.
Ermm...Sarsi was my favourite drink during the Chinese New Year. Kids nowadays are so lucky that they get to savour soft drink in cans. For us, we only get to do this during festivals such as Chinese New Year. We cherish more of things we don't get enough of.
My family could only afford a telephone when I was in upper secondary. Unlike now, where the kids do not even appreciate a telephone but keep demanding for a camera or 3G mobile phone.
Still remember these piggy banks? These remind me of fun fairs in those days. Going to fun fairs was one of the outings we'd love to go. Now, these lacklustre fun fairs are deserted as they failed to entice kids with the thrill-filled rides we have at Sunway Pyramid.
We could only have one of these sharpeners or erasers during our time. This is definitely a contrast with the dozens of stationery items kids can possess nowadays. I reminded my kids that they should appreciate the many sharpeners and stationeries they own now.

Roller skates! Mom's favourite when she was young. However, we could only own ONE pair to be shared among three girls in the family. And, we were not allowed to go outdoor to play this. So, we ended up playing along narrow and short balcony of our old flat.
This visit gave the kids a very valuable lesson that Mom didn't have a lot to enjoy last time. And, they should appreciate what they have now. This trip is much better than just talking to them as they got to see in their own eyes what Mom used to have.
Verdict by the kids supported by Mom : this is the BEST museum that we have visited.

My faithful blood-sucker friends
They have been with me since I was in pre-school, as far as I can remember from a very old photo of a young innocent me. They left marks which are visible enough to be seen on photographs. Yes, that is how 'attached' they are to me.
We never part since then
Childhood, from primary to secondary even til adulthood
Their presence, never fails to be noticeable
By only the 'priviliged' few whom they adore, unfortunately
And when they sting, they cling
Til we feel the itching, darn annoying
Relentless, I swear they are
Ugly red bloody marks, in numbers, they often are
An identity I loathed to have
For I got interrogated in school for inviting these creatures
Who seemed to adore me so dearly
Ironically only a few feel their presence
As most are unscathed by them
Pleasing blood,it seems I have
To entice these blood-sucker friends
We never part since then
Childhood, from primary to secondary even til adulthood
Their presence, never fails to be noticeable
By only the 'priviliged' few whom they adore, unfortunately
