His first camp

Am I going to be having peace of mind in the next 3 days 2 nights? Well, it certainly going to be a lot quieter without him around.

For the first time in almost 13 years, he's gonna be away from home, and for quite long too, 3 days and 2 nights.

The motherly side of me would be missing him a great deal. That's not surprising at all as he's been with me most of the time ever since he's born. I could also be worried about whether he's having proper meals and what not.

On the other hand, I really NEED A BREAK. For the next 3 days, at least, I don't have to think what's his meals are, whether he's going to be fussy with his food. I don't need to be bothered if he's on the computer, playing games or if he's with his gadget. I think I won't be peeking into his room the first thing in the morning as soon as I wake up to see if this boy is awake with his gadget or downstairs in front of the TV.  And the daily ritual of Kumon drilling, that will be forgotten for a while. No more questioning and reminding if he's completed his homework. Ahhh... I think this is more of a time-out for Mom than for him.

For the first time, I'm for this kind of camp.  He needs this kind of exposure, considering his 'not-so-independent' attitude.  He's definitely going to mingle with his friends and learn to get along harmoniously with them.  He's to get physical a little instead of being a couch potato or a mouse potato, not to mention other skills which this camp is supposed to teach the participants.

Mom can definitely relax for a while.

Have a blessed Christmas

This is the second piece of art Wyng brought back after his second Arts class.  The shape of the Christmas tree was drawn following a specimen (obviously).  Being a detailed boy (not consistent though), he pointed out to me that there were two flaws that he made and the teacher didn't realise them.  First, the one of snowman's bow was not coloured. Second, the second (from the left) Santa Claus' hands were not outlined.

The decoration on the tree was drawn according to his imagination.  As for the snow flake, only one is drawn by the teacher, the rest were drawn by Wyng. It's quite easy to spot it, can you?

I take this opportunity to wish everyone, especially visitors of my blog,

A blessed and joyful Christmas!

Back to drama class for the kid

Wyng resumes his drama class after Chinese New Year. After surveying another language studio at Ampang Point, the decision is to continue with Helen O'Grady as this language studio does not offer any drama class on weekends. Their current classes clash with Wyng's school time.

Drama school for the kid

This was what we have been waiting for since last year. After so many weekends of sacrificed sleep and long distance travelling, this is it. Not to mention, the days of FUN for W.

This certificate should be good enough as a stepping stone to build his language proficiency and confidence. Despite this, we are bidding farewell to Helen O'Grady as Daddy feels that Taman Tun is too far just for a drama class.

So,Mom gotta search for a nearer place for W.

Tie a yellow scarf round the young meaty neck

H is so excited about this. What is it that doesn't excite him when it comes to new and fun stuff?

According to him, having a yellow scarf means something in the Scout movement. He's so proud of his small 'achievement'. And, I'm seeing myself putting in dollar after dollar each time I drop by the tailor shop to have his tags sewn onto his uniform. Well, not that I'm whining about the dollar but I wish that his energy can be diverted to his studies.

A question popped up in the family recently. Was it a right move to allow him to be in Boys Scout?
