It was sometime early this year that we discovered that he has a strand of grey hair. It wasn't causing any concern as we thought that it was just that ONE and ONLY strand. We found a strand or two appearing as time goes.
Just last week, I saw about 3 or 4 strands hair with greying ends. At closer look, they are quite noticeable. The greying portions seem to grow at the ends first. W's daddy is concerned and pestered that I take him to our padietrician. Yeah, I'll definitely take him to get an expert's advice.
To jump to conclusion, thoughts such as malnutrition or abnormality crossed our mind.
Mummy,Daddy,Teacher,Maid, Buddy are roles I play to my two handsome and boisterous kids. Countless lessons are learnt from my kids since the dawn of motherhood.

A good start in Maths
He got 92.5% for his first Olympics Mathematics assessment since he joined last month.
According to him, he tops his class which has less than 10 students. Whether he is the top or not, it doesn't really matter. Getting such a good score is a very encouraging start for him.
I hope it's not a fruitless move to sign him up in this class.

Tie a yellow scarf round the young meaty neck
H is so excited about this. What is it that doesn't excite him when it comes to new and fun stuff?
According to him, having a yellow scarf means something in the Scout movement. He's so proud of his small 'achievement'. And, I'm seeing myself putting in dollar after dollar each time I drop by the tailor shop to have his tags sewn onto his uniform. Well, not that I'm whining about the dollar but I wish that his energy can be diverted to his studies.
A question popped up in the family recently. Was it a right move to allow him to be in Boys Scout?

A timetable for my kid
It was a pleasant surprise that he asked, on one fine morning, that he would do 3 pages of Mathematics every day. He was about to finish his homework in the morning and the question popped out.
The next natural move for me was to suggest a timetable for him. I told him that I would draw boxes on a piece of paper for him to fill up with whatever subjects he want to do each day. I drew boxes in the format of a school's timetable on a piece of paper. School hours were blocked out. He has to fill in the hours from morning until he goes to school and at night from after dinner to before bedtime.
We came up with something, under my guidance and trying to help him to be realistic. I'm not too ambitious about this. It will be on a trial basis. What's important is he realises the need for a timetable. And, the next trying step is to get him to stick to it. This is THE challenge.

A roaring year indeed
The name speaks for itself...is that true?
Tiger, being a ferocious animal, seems to fear no predator for it preys on the weak. No words can tame it. What similarity does this have to my year?
Well, I definitely hope I can 'roar' (no matter what obstacles) through this year with a breeze. It will surely be a challenging first year for me. But, giving up is not something I should even think of.

Just a test
It has been quite. I've not been blogging remotely for some time. I'm back and I hope the momentum will continue.

UPSR results today
It's as though I had sat for the exam and awaiting the long-awaited results. It reminds me of my anxiety umpteen years ago. Eagerly waiting for the bombshell.
It's already nineteen minutes past 10 am. The results should have been ready for collection at the school's office by now. I don't think H has gotten his results yet. It will take the teacher a while to get the results and distribute them to the anxious students. Whatever it is, I told H not to call me only if there's good results. I shall wait for him to come back from school to convey the good news (I'm keeping my fingers crossed real tight). But, in my heart, I wish he would call.

Mellowing my kid down
He's too blunt, too vocal, sometimes unstoppable. Well, at least I notice this unpleasant behaviour early and I am doing whatever I can now to tone him down.
He could be murmuring things like 'do you have any brain?', 'are you crazy?', 'what happen to you, huh?', 'why is he so stupid?', 'why are they like that?', etc to family members especially to his Qo Qo and Daddy. And, at times he would be hurling the same remarks about other people he meets and fortunately these words are not audible to others. Otherwise, Mom would have to turn into a mole for a while and go under the burrow.
I keep reminding him that it is rude to say those things. And nobody likes a rude person as a friend. If he continues to behave rudely, he would have no friends or he would get bashed by someone later. The natural reply from him is 'I don't care!'. That's just his response.
Every now and then, I would tell him that everyone likes friendly and nice people. And that he would get blessings (nice things) if he is good to his friends. This has become a habit to me. Since the past couple of weeks, I have been reminding him, 'Be nice'. Not so good a response from him in the beginning. He kind of rebelled when I said those things. But, I notice some positive changes whenever I say those words. He would look at me, smile a little and just keep quiet.

It's getting tougher..
Instead of mellowing with age, my temper seems to shoot up ... especially now that I am caring for my kids full-time alongside with running my business from home.

It has been three months...
It has been three months since I last blogged....
I've lost my blog http://momslessonsfromkids.blogspot.com/. It has been infected with virus and I can't access the blog to remove the virus. Now, I gotta start from scratch to post all that I've posted earlier.
So much of sweat and tears just vanished like that for no reason..... There was really tears when emotion got to my head... and there was practically wet tissues, and fingers typing on the keyboard as I reminisce those times...
